i don't know how possible this is, even if it should just be a premium feature only, but how cool would it be to download audio profiles. i mean, some people i've seen on the zone really like certain profiles, and get really frustrated if they are taken down. it would be really nice if you could save an audio profile to your computer for later listening. maybe users can choose to make there profile downlodable or not, as it might not apeal to all users having there profiles downloaded

As it happens you do download the audio profiles to your computer when you first listen to them. To retrieve them simply go to Internet Options in the tools menu, then find the settings button for temporary internet files and history. in there you will find a view files button, entering on that will bring up a list of all files that IE has cached. At this point I'd recommend doing a search for (MP3) or even the user number of the profile you'd like to listen too because there will be a hell of a lot of stuff in that folder unless you clear your cache regularly, which most people don't. Once you've found the profile/profiles that you're looking for I'd recommend copy and pasting them elsewhere to avoid losing them if for what ever reason your cache does get cleared.

Hope that helps.

I should just add that that's how you do it in IE7, it may be different for earlier versions of Internet Explorer. Frankly I can't remember at this point. As for Firefox, somebody else will have to jump on for that one as I've never used it.

Dan.

There's an easier way to do it. Let's imagine we want to download the profile for user number 9999, which I'm aware doesn't exist, but this is only an example. You would go to the following link

http://www.zonebbs.com/sounds/profiles/p9999.mp3

Whether it has been uploaded as a wave or an mp3 file, it will always be converted to mp3, so that's nothing to worry about. You can use this method for any user that has an audio profile. To download mine, you would go to

http://www.zonebbs.com/sounds/profiles/p8061.mp3

Here are a few other examples

http://www.zonebbs.com/sounds/profiles/p604.mp3

Both of those should work.

Also, at some point I could make an audio profile downloader for anyone who wants it, where all you would have to do is type in the user's ID number and it would find the profile. But even this way is incredibly simple.

incidentally, you can also do the same with the phone name tags. I'll just put one example because this is even simpler

All of these are in wave format.

Wo I did not know that! Also I do think that's a good idea, but only given that the user should have the choice as to whether or not they want their profile to be downloadable.
